As the deadline for the submission projects in the Xend Finance Hackathon draws close, here are the expectations from the projects that are participating in the hackathon.

Participation

All developers, builders, and creators from Africa and All countries of the world. Anyone can participate from anywhere because our solution is location agnostic and decentralized (hackathon is open to both beginners and non-beginners).

What to expect

All DeFi and NFT projects should contribute to the Xend Finance Ecosystem by using the Xend Finance SDK, XEND Tokens, or connect directly to Xend Finance Smart Contracts on Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum or Polygon. For example, a game solution may not use our SDK but can use our tokens. Participants are at liberty to decide if their projects will be open source or not.

Participants will build cool solutions that will potentially solve some of the real problems facing Africa, help the Xend Finance ecosystem to grow and improve the use of the Blockchain as a whole. Some examples of areas to cover include: Savings, Lending and Borrowing, Gaming, Swaps, Royalties and Renting, Land Ownership, On-Ramp/Off-Ramp, NFTs marketplaces amongst other relevant areas as well as those we have suggested in the Dorahacks project description.

Selection of Winners

The selection of winners will be based on the community voting on submitted projects as well as Judge’s Pick.

The Judges will pick outstanding projects and ideas that will impact the Defi, NFTs, and also the African economy on a set of criteria not limited to the following listed below:

  • Potential Impact
How will this project impact the growth of the Xend Finance ecosystem as well as the viability of the project? Are there real-life use-cases of the project? Is there some traction or PoC that this project can work?
  • Functionality
How well does the project work? For idea-stage and MVP stage projects, is there a clearly thought out functional process for the project?
  • Novelty
How unique is the project idea and execution? Is it better than the already existing alternatives? Why would early adopters want to use this solution compared to what they were using previously?
  • Design
Is the user experience and design of the project well thought out?
